Used Honda Accord Review. Part 1.

The first Honda Accord appeared in the Honda Company’s program in 1976. New versions of

this model were released once in 4 or 5 years. The fall of 2002 saw the debut of the seventh

generation model.

Size

Compared to other D-class cars, the used Honda Accord of seventh generation is one of the

most spacious. The compartment is 1485 mm wide at the front and 1480 mm wide at the back,

which is 75 mm more than the size of the previous model. Used Honda Accord can seat quite

comfortably four tall passengers and even one more person will be able to squeeze in.

Engine

Hondas powered by in-line 4-cylinder engines brought great success to the Honda Company.

In Canada, these reinforced engines usually outlive the car itself, if taken good care of – they

can make over 300,000 km without a major overhaul. The square 86*86 mm 2L engine that has

been produced with slight modifications for over 10 years is now an integral part of used Honda

Accord, together with its long-stroke 2.4-L version.

How the cooling and lubricating systems function should be the primary concern of a used car

buyer. Here they sit next to each other, so the main condition for the engine to cool down fully

is that they should be clean. Overheating is very dangerous for any engine, especially for the

reinforced Honda type. Check the level of the fluid in the expansion tank and, after the engine

cools down, in the radiator.
